How We Quote an Epoxy Floor: What a Free Estimate Includes

Nobody loves getting quotes. You brace for a pushy pitch, a mystery number, and three follow-up calls a day. We built our estimate process to be the opposite of that, and since we get asked “what happens when you come out?” all the time, here is the whole thing, start to finish.

Whether it is a two-car garage in Perrysburg or a 40,000 square foot warehouse, the fundamentals are the same: look at the concrete, listen to how the space is used, and put an honest scope in writing.

Step 1: The Conversation Before the Visit

When you call or submit our quote form, we ask a few basics: what kind of space, roughly how big, what is on the floor now, and what problems you are trying to solve. Cracks? Dusting concrete? A failed DIY coating? That tells us what to bring and how much time to block off. For straightforward residential jobs this takes five minutes.

Step 2: The On-Site Evaluation

This is where a real epoxy floor quote separates itself from a number over the phone. On site we check:

• Slab condition. Cracks, spalls, pitting, and previous coatings that will need to be ground off.
• Moisture. We test for moisture vapor, especially in basements and older slabs, because it changes the primer we spec.
• Measurements. We measure the actual space rather than guessing from a plat map.
• Use and traffic. Forklifts need different builds than family sedans. Chemical exposure, hot tires, and wash-down routines all shape the system.
• Logistics. Access, contents that need moving, and for commercial clients, how we phase work around your operation.

Step 3: System Recommendation, Not a One-Size Pitch

We install everything from flake and metallic systems to high-build industrial coatings and polished concrete, so we have no reason to force one product on every floor. If a garage needs a standard flake system with a polyaspartic topcoat, that is what we quote. If a food facility needs cove base and a urethane cement, that goes in the scope. You will know exactly which system we are proposing and why.

Step 4: The Written Quote

Within a couple of days you get a written quote that spells out prep method, repairs included, the coating system by name, number of coats, color or flake selection, timeline, and the total price. For ballpark purposes: most 2-car garages land between $1,800 and $3,500 depending on slab condition and system, and commercial epoxy typically runs $4 to $10 per square foot based on build thickness and prep. If a quote you are comparing is far below those ranges, ask hard questions about prep.
